You won’t get a technician who’s guessing at what your street looks like. Greenhouse is headquartered right here in Carrollwood, which means the people showing up at your door have driven past the same lakes, worked under the same oak canopy, and serviced more homes in this community than almost anywhere else we cover. With roaches specifically, that kind of familiarity matters – because what draws them into a Carrollwood home can have less to do with the season and more to do with the age, landscaping, and layout of the property.
What Carrollwood’s Estbalished Homes Can Mean for Roach Activity
Mature trees, established landscaping, older homes, and decades of growth shape Carrollwood’s established neighborhoods. Those conditions can create plenty of places for outdoor roaches to shelter and find their way toward a home.
Smokybrown roaches, for example, spend much of their time outdoors and may enter through upper areas of a home, particularly around rooflines and exterior walls. Mature trees near the structure can provide shelter and make it easier for them to reach the house. American cockroaches, commonly called palmetto bugs in Florida, are more likely to turn up around ground-level areas such as garages, drains, exterior doors, and areas where moisture collects.
German cockroaches are a different story. They’re indoor specialists that can establish themselves around kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets, appliances, and other areas where food and moisture are available. In that case, what’s happening outside the house matters much less than what’s happening inside it.
